(Lexington County, SC) -- The Department of Natural Resources is asking for the public's help if they see a non-native species in South Carolina.
Officials say they've documented the first confirmed sighting of a black and white tegu lizard. It was seen in Lexington County and could have a detrimental impact on local wildlife.
If anyone else spots one of the lizards, they are asked to take a photo and report where it was seen.
