(Columbia, SC) -- An at-home saliva-based testing kit for coronavirus is in a trial phase in the Palmetto State. DHEC launched the pilot program this week.
Free test kits are available at county health departments for those who show up during business hours and fill out a questionnaire, but some county departments may not have a large amount of supplies yet.
Those who take the test would spit in a provided tube and ship out the sample, expecting results in 24 to 72 hours.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 700 new COVID-19 cases yesterday.
Seventeen more deaths from the virus occurred, with one happening in July, one in August, two in late September, and the rest between October 3rd and 13th
