(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina is breaking records for absentee voter turnout. But, the South Carolina Election Commission says voter turnout on Election Day was about 66-percent, which does not break the 2008 record of 76-percent voter turnout.
Thirty-eight-percent of South Carolina residents voted early, either in-person or by mail.
The Election Commission says another record was set as 94-percent of the mail-in ballots they issued were returned, compared to 91-percent in 2016.
