(Columbia, SC) -- State lawmakers are moving forward with a bill that would get educators vaccinated for COVID-19 sooner.
The South Carolina House unanimously passed a measure yesterday that would add teachers, school staff, and daycare workers to Phase 1A of the state's vaccine rollout.
If passed, DHEC would need to begin vaccinating teachers 30 days after the bill was signed into law.
Still, Governor McMaster has spoken out against putting educators ahead of vulnerable age groups in the vaccination queue.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced one-thousand-372 new cases yesterday. An additional four confirmed COVID deaths were also reported.
