(Columbia, SC) -- Prisma Health will not be acquiring several regional hospitals as previously planned.
Last year, they entered into an agreement with LifePoint Health in an effort to acquire Providence Health and Providence Health Northeast in Columbia, KershawHealth in Camden, and a Fairfield County emergency room.
Prisma officials say it was in the best interests of all organizations involved to end the pursuit of the acquisition, citing a complicated regulatory process as the reason.
