(Columbia, SC) -- State senators are giving a vote of no confidence to the director of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Senate Corrections and Penology Subcommittee voted unanimously on the matter Wednesday. This comes after Governor McMaster asked SLED and the Department of Administration to review the DJJ's policies.
At this week's hearing, DJJ Director Freddie Pough was asked if he would consider resigning, which he declined.
The vote of no confidence from the state lawmakers is ceremonial, as the governor would have to make the determination to remove Pough from his post.
