(Lexington, SC) -- The Lexington Police Department is giving away free box fans.
It's all part of their "Operation Cool Down," which has been going on for more than a decade.
As the temperatures heat up in the Midlands, the police department is reminding anyone who needs a fan to visit their station at the 100-block of Maiden Lane during business hours.
They help over 100 families each year through the program.
