Dylann Roof's death sentence is being upheld.
A federal appeals court panel affirmed the sentence for the man who killed nine people at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston in 2015. He was the first person to get the death penalty for a hate crime after targeting the predominantly Black congregation.
