(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina Education Superintendent Molly Spearman is not seeking re-election.
In an announcement on Wednesday, she said that wants to focus on her family.
Spearman has held the role since 2015 and will end her term in January of 2023.
She became Deputy Superintendent of Education in 1998. In 2014, she ran for State Education Superintendent and won.
