(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is reporting the first flu-related death of the season.
The person who died was someone from the Upstate region. So far, there have been 79 lab-confirmed cases of the flu in the Palmetto state this flu season.
DHEC officials are asking everyone 6 months of age or older to get a flu shot.
