(Columbia, SC) - Richland County School District One will use metal detectors at some of their schools.
No new scanners are being purchased, though, because the district will be moving the metal detectors they currently have for sporting events.
The goal is to prevent any incidents from happening at any of their middle schools or high schools.
There are no plans to use metal detectors at elementary schools.
