South Carolina Supreme Court Temporarily Blocks Fetal Heartbeat Law

(Columbia, SC)-- The South Carolina Supreme Court is temporarily blocking the Fetal Heartbeat Law. 

This comes after Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and the Greenville Women's Clinic filed a lawsuit asking for a temporary injunction against the legislation. 

The law bans abortions after six weeks. It had been blocked by federal courts since 2021, but took effect shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
