(Pickens, SC) - A Pickens Councilman is being suspended after an indictment from a grand jury on a child sex charge.
Donald Edward McKinney was arrested for second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in October.
On Tuesday, Governor McMaster issued an executive order suspending McKinney from office.
The suspension will remain in place until McKinney is either acquitted or convicted, or a successor is elected.
