(Columbia, SC) - A judge is ruling in favor of Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott in a civil lawsuit that alleged misconduct.
Kendrick McMillian claimed he was unlawfully arrested by deputies in 2015 and suffered a heat-related injury while in custody.
The judge found there was not enough evidence to back up claims of negligence or unlawful arrest.
McMillian had been seeking 600-thousand dollars in damages.
