(Columbia, SC) -- An amendment passed by the South Carolina House is reducing the Comptroller General's salary to one-dollar.
The 104 to seven vote on Monday night comes after Richard Eckstrom informed lawmakers of a 3.5 billion dollar accounting error.
The pay reduction had support from both sides of the aisle.
Lawmakers are also considering a bill to impeach Eckstrom over the mistake, which happened over the past decade.
