(Columbia, SC) - State lawmakers are expected to elect someone to replace the state's Comptroller General in the next few weeks.
Richard Eckstrom resigned from the role last week after admitting to a 3.5 billion dollar accounting error.
Now, it is up to lawmakers to find someone to serve the rest of Eckstrom's four-year term, which started in January.
Former lawmaker Kirkman Finlay and the Senate's former budget director Mike Shealy have both announced candidacy for the position.
