Infant mortality rates are on the rise in South Carolina.
Numbers from the state's Department of Health and Environmental Control show the total jumped 12-percent from 2020 to 2021. The state reported 416 infant deaths two-years ago.
The rate in Hampton County was the state's largest by far at just over 20-percent.
