After rejecting around a thousand amendments, the South Carolina House has passed a six week abortion ban bill.
The bill passed on an 82-33 vote and now moves back to the senate before heading to the Governor’s desk.
Democrats in the House believe that the state Supreme Court will ultimately find the bill unconstitutional.
The court blocked the last fetal heartbeat bill in January on the grounds that it violated a woman’s right to privacy.
