(Columbia, SC) -- Governor McMaster is giving his official support to a new abortion ban.
The law prohibits most abortions once an ultrasound detects cardiac activity- which is usually around six weeks.
McMaster signed a similar law in 2021, but it was struck down by the South Carolina Supreme Court.
The new law goes into effect immediately, but is expected to face its own legal challenges.
