(Columbia, SC) -- Over 100 South Carolina churches are separating from the United Methodist Church.
The move was approved during the 2023 South Carolina Annual Conference. Now, 113 churches in the Palmetto state will separate.
They say they can no longer be United Methodist churches because the denomination has not upheld its doctrine prohibiting same-gender weddings.
