(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina's new state budget is now official.
Governor Henry McMaster yesterday signed the new, 14-billion dollar spending plan.
The new budget includes pay raises for state employees, teachers, and law enforcement.
It also includes tax cuts.McMaster cut just one-and-a-half million dollars out of the state budget, a change from when he vetoed 50-million dollars out of the budget, a huge change from 2021 when he vetoed 150-million dollars from the state's spending plan.
The governor also issued a challenge to South Carolina's colleges and universities for next year.He wants them all to find a way to cut tuition and cut costs for students.
