(Columbia, SC)-- Two South Carolina jails are being investigated by the Justice Department.
Two separate civil investigations will look into the conditions at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston and at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia.
The Justice Department says they've received credible allegations regarding use of force, gross medical neglect, and suicides at the Charleston facility.
Credible allegations of sexual assaults, homicides, and other violence were received regarding the detention center in Columbia.
