(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina emergency management officials are announcing another increase in the state's death toll from Hurricane Helene.
Governor McMaster held a news conference at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center on Thursday.
He said 41 weather-related deaths have now been reported from Helene. That exceeds the death toll in South Carolina from Hurricane Hugo in 1989.
