(Columbia, SC) - A state lawmaker wants to start impeachment proceedings against the state treasurer.
Representative Heather Bauer filed legislation to begin those proceedings against Treasurer Curtis Loftis on Thursday.
This comes after a report found a one-point-eight-billion dollar surplus never actually existed- and was an accounting error.
Bauer has called on Treasurer Loftis to resign over the error.
