Gov. McMaster Declares State Of Emergency Due To Wildfires

(Columbia, SC) - Governor McMaster is declaring a State of Emergency in response to wildfires in the state.

The governor made the declaration on Sunday to provide resources to emergency response efforts.

This comes as firefighters respond to over 175 wildfires across the state, according to the State Fire Marshal.

Dry conditions and wind reportedly led to the fires, which happened in Horry, Spartanburg, Oconee, Union, and Pickens Counties.
