Girl Stolen At Birth Questioned Identity When Applying For Jobs

A South Carolina girl who was stolen at birth from a Jacksonville, Florida hospital in 1998 says she started questioning her identity when she began applying for jobs.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the 18-year-old, born Kamiyah Mobley but raised as Alexis Manigo, began suspecting her identity was compromised when she applied for jobs recently and was told her birth certificate and Social Security number were both fake.

Detectives in Jacksonville and South Carolina confirmed the girl was the child stolen from what is now UF Health Jacksonville as a newborn, leading her supposed mother to be arrested last week for kidnapping.

She met her biological parents together for the first time this past weekend.
