An Orangeburg County deputy is under arrest for punching a handcuffed man in the face.
SLED has charged Jason Nelson with third-degree assault and battery. Nelson was assisting the Orangeburg County Sheriff's office when he arrested Wesley Givens on outstanding warrants.
After Givens spit in the officer's face, he was removed from the scene, then returned and punched Givens in the face causing injuries.
