A Columbia firefighter is wanted for questioning in an arson and death investigation.
City Manager Teresa Wilson says the firefighter is not a suspect but has been temporarily suspended from duties. Wilson added that the firefighter would not cooperate with investigators without a lawyer present.
Investigators say video footage allegedly shows that the now suspended firefighter was present at the scene where an 80-year-old died from smoke inhalation in the apartment fire on South Salada Avenue late last month.
