The Richland County Coroner has identified Wayne A. Bell, 28, as the victim who was shot and killed, outside of a Waffle House yesterday morning.
Columbia police arrested and charged Eric Nixon, 35, with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and possession of a pistol by an unlawful person. Nixon was booked into the Glenn detention center.
Police believe the shooting followed an altercation in the parking lot of the restaurant, on Stoneridge Drive, around 2:30 yesterday morning.
The Richland County Sheriff's Deptartment assisted in the investigation and subsequent arrest.
