Upstate School District Notifies Parents Of Student With Viral Meningitis

The custodial staff at an Upstate high school is doing a deep clean after the district announced that one of the students was diagnosed with viral meningitis.

District officials posted a notice last night on Facebook alerting parents that a student at Chesnee High School has the illness.

The district has also posted steps students can take to lower their chances of getting infected. There is no way to prevent viral meningitis.
