Fort Jackson To See Increase In Basic Training Inductees

Fort Jackson is gearing up to receive an influx of trainees.

Congress has given the green light for the U.S. Army to recruit an additional 75-hundred soldiers this year. Many will go through basic training at Fort Jackson.

The base is the largest Army training site in the country and is celebrating 100 years as a training facility.

Columbia Recruiting Battalion spokesperson L.A. Sully says the recruitment phase concludes in September and the first batch of new soldiers will arrive in Columbia in 2018.
