The Richland County Recreation Commission has 6 new board members, selected by state legislators from a group of 18, vetted from an original pool of more than 60.
The previous board members resigned, or were terminated by then Gov. Nikki Haley, following a series of scandals and political subterfuge.
Just last year, former commission executive director James Brown stepped down while facing a number of sexual harassment suits. He was also charged with misconduct in office, and that he tried to intimidate a witness, involved in the case.
The new board must still be approved and formally appointed by the governor, before the board meets, Monday, March 20th.
