South Carolina State Senator Tom Davis says he will filibuster against the Senate bill to raise the state gas tax.
People on both sides of the tax debate spoke out about the bill at a rally Tuesday. Those for the bill say, the tax is needed to fix crumbling roads. The Department of Transportation says it needs a billion dollars a year just to maintain them.
The current Senate proposal would boost the per gallon tax on gas, to 12-cents, but over a five year period.
