Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands

Severe storms late last night and early this morning created havoc for over 16,000 customers who lost electrical service in Lexington, Richland, and Saluda counties. 

The National Weather Service confirmed wind gusts of 45 m-p-h were recorded, and there were unconfirmed reports of gusts topping 70. Greenville County reported golf ball-sized hail.

Downed trees blocked several intersections in the Lake Murray area leading to traffic delays this morning.
