A Cayce woman grocery shopping at the Bi-Lo store on Knox Abbott Drive, last Tuesday night successfully defended herself, when a man approached her while she loaded groceries into her vehicle.
The man said he needed gas money. She told him to leave her alone then got the attention of a store employee. The man was white, about 5-8, to 5-10, with shoulder length hair, and facial hair, fled the scene in a silver 2000-2002 Ford Winstar van.
The Cayce department of public safety is investigating.
