COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – An officer with the Columbia Police Department was involved in a shooting Wednesday at the Murphy gas station located near the Walmart on Bush River Road.
According to Chief Skip Holbrook, shortly after noon an armed suspect left the Walmart and ran towards the gas station after the victim.
The gunman shot the victim and the suspect opened fire on an officer who was near the incident, Holbrook said.
The entrance to the gas station is closed due to SLED investigation.
Authorities say no officers were injured during the incident.
