The South Carolina Research Authority is hoping the House approves a proposal that would funnel 12-million dollars into tech startup investments.
The SCRA runs the South Carolina Launch program that offers investments to small tech companies to get their start in the state. The extra funding would also be used for research grants.
They need a two-thirds majority in the House before the end of the legislative year for the bill to be taken up. If the House fails to vote on it, the proposal will be put on hold until next year.
