Columbia Bike Share Program To Roll Out This Fall

Columbia is jumping on the metaphorical handlebars of Greenville, Spartanburg and Charleston by rolling out a new bike share program this fall.

In an effort to encourage alternative modes of transportation, the city plans to install 15 stations around downtown with 135 bikes to rent.

If the program takes off, they could add another ten stations and 90 more bikes to the streets in phase two. Public and private support will likely fund the nearly four-million dollar project.
