Severe Storms Possible For Midlands

The National Weather Service says the Midlands is in a “marginal risk” category for severe storms today.  The Midlands is expected to be impacted by storms being this afternoon.

Those storms are forecast to continue into the evening hours. They could bring damaging winds and small hail. As these storms are moving so fast, widespread flooding is not expected, although localized flooding could occur.

This is the same system, that's been responsible for at least 14 deaths in the South and Midwest areas of the country.

A lake wind advisory is in effect, for all of the counties in the Midlands until 8 tonight.
