A Lexington County was killed in an officer involved shooting yesterday. John Bittle was shot and killed as deputies attempted to arrest him on drug charges.
Lexington County Sheriff's deputies along with Columbia Police and the U.S. Marshal's Service, were trying to serve an arrest warrant on Bittle at a home on Seleta Circle about 8:30 Tuesday morning.
According to authorities Bittle made threatening statements to the officers who confronted him and attempted to flee before being shot by police.
