No Charges Filed Against Driver In Fatal Boat Crash Last Month

Officials say that the surviving driver of one of the boats involved in a fatal crash last month on Lake Murray is not responsible for the accident.

A look at the boat's GPS determined that the driver of the boat was not speeding and attempted to maneuver it away from the smaller bass boat that collided with it. Two men in the bass boat were killed and the wife and passenger of the driver of the other boat were ejected into the water.

A toxicology report revealed that the deceased driver of the bass boat had cannabis and alcohol in his system. The only survivor that was in the bass boat is suing because he maintains that the other driver was driving too fast and under the influence of alcohol.

He has admitted to having a few beers during the hours before the crash, but he passed a sobriety test not too long after the crash.
