Bouvia Sales has been arrested by Columbia Police, charged with murder, attempted murder, burglary, and a weapons felony, for his alleged involvement in a break-in and shooting death of Marlin Butler.
Sales reportedly broke in to Butler’s home, but was caught in the act by the family. The suspect allegedly shot and killed the father, but the son fled, and called 911.
A key piece of evidence found in the home, linked sales to the crime. Police report sales reportedly confessed to three other people about this crime.
Sales is being held at the Lexington County detention center on unrelated charges.
