SLED is assisting the Aiken County Coroner's office with an investigation following the Sunday discovery of a dead inmate at the county detention center.
The inmate was found, unresponsive in a cell, during a routine check. Detention officers and onsite medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, while Aiken County EMS was called.
Authorities don't believe there are any suspicious circumstances about the inmate's death.
