South Carolina Farmers Can Start Plowing The Fields To Grow Hemp

It is now legal to grow hemp in South Carolina.

Governor Henry McMaster signed a bill yesterday that legalizes the marijuana-like plant in the state. The governor says hemp can be "used for a wide variety of things" and even said it could potentially be used as a fuel-alternative.

Hemp crops will have to be tested to ensure they don't exceed levels of THC, the chemical found in marijuana that makes people high.
