Local "Swim Safe" Event To Help Prevent More Midlands Drownings

Richland County law enforcement and recreation officials are hosting a "Swim Safe" event this month.

Officials say they want to help educate residents on how to prevent drowning, no matter their age, after six people have drowned in the Midlands this summer.

Lifeguards and other officials will be at Saint Andrews Park and Eastover Park on July 15th from 9 a.m. until noon to go over swimming safety tips.
