Security Tight For Tonight's School Board Meeting

There will be beefed up security at tonight's Lexington Richland School District 5 board of trustees meeting.

A proposed new elementary school for Amicks Ferry road will be the issue, as some property owners are opposed to building it. There may be a vote by the board, tonight, whether or not to buy the land off Amicks Ferry Road, near Lake Tide Drive, for the school's construction site.

The meeting is scheduled for 7, at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies in Chapin.

District officials are asking those interested in attending to give an extra 30 minutes to get inside, as a large crowd is expected and there'll be extra security screening.
