Storms Pummel Midlands

The Midlands experienced flooded streets in several counties last night.

Richland and Lexington Counties were hard hit after heavy rains inundated the area, as much as 3 inches in less than an hour in some locations.

Columbia fire units responded to multiple calls of flooded cars and roads in downtown Columbia, and rescued one driver whose car was stuck in water on Main Street at Whaley Street.

The entire area was under a flood advisory until late last night.
