The sheriff of Richland County is addressing the suicide of one of his deputies.
Sheriff Leon Lott spoke yesterday afternoon to discuss the issue of suicide with the public. Senior Deputy Derek Fish took his own life after completing his shift Friday evening.
Sheriff Lott says the number-one killer of police is suicide and promised he would do more to try and prevent it among his officers.
