Today's the first day of school for students at a brand-new elementary school campus in Cayce.
Classes begin for kindergarten-through fifth grade today at the new Cayce Elementary School on 12th Street. Construction on the nearly 30-million-dollar facility was approved in 2014. Twelve-hundred students are registered at the school.
Classes began today in Lexington 2 and Kershaw County, most Midlands districts return to the classroom next Tuesday.
