Governor McMaster is asking some 143 medical facilities in eight counties to clear out ahead of the impending storm.
The counties include are Jasper, Beaufort, Colleton, Dorchester, Charleston, Berkeley, Georgetown and Horry.
They include hospitals, nursing homes, assisted-living centers and rehab facilities.
